SageTV wont detect my tuner

I am using a Eskape myTV.PVR on a new 24" iMac. The tuner is being detected by the mytv software but not my SageTV. Does anyone have any ideas. I am just running the trial so I can determine I like it or not.

Yep, me too

I upgraded to the latest version of Mac Sage, using the USB tuner and the drivers posted on the Sage site, and no matter which version I use, MyTv works but Sage doesn't like it.

If you get a private post...please share!

Thanks

Jim

I had this problem a time or two. Not positive I can recall how I fixed it. I *think* I unplugged the USB cable from the Eskape tuner then, using the Activity Monitor utility, Killed the Trinity Server process, then plugged the USB tuner back in. I haven't had to do that in a long time.

What version of MyTV/x did it ship with? And what's the model number on the bottom of the device (should be 24xxx or 29xxx).

If you switch between 3.6.x and 4.x you need to completely unplug the unit to refresh the firmware and make sure you kill TrinityServer otherwise it won't work properly. Sometimes it'll leave the device in a bad state where it won't even work in MyTV/x.

I too am having this problem, i just bought the mytv.pvr, i have it running in a Imac 24" with 2 gigs ram, with the eskapetv software it will detect and use the external usb device, but when trying to rung the sage program it wont even launch, i just get the launch screen and the message SageTV service is initilizing.

I have the myTV.PVR 29132 rev: d2a3

Should i just take it back and get my $99 back and buy a Eytv ?

My goal is to use it on my G4 800mhz plug it into that and use it to just record then watch from my laptop later on.

Jase

P.s this is all mac

Are you running MyTV/x 4.0.8 or 3.6.9? The 29xxx units need 3.6.9 currently, the 4.0.8 build is slightly broken.
