Multiple Tuner - Remapping not working
I just recently setup SageTV. I currently have a PVR-250 and an HD-Homerun using OTA for HDTV. I have firewire working but I can not configure the source properly. Here is the setup:
1) PVR-250 set to area code one - Madison Digital Cable 2) Firewire set to area code two - Eau Claire Digital Cable Both are Charter. I've successfully remapped channel 5 to 782 to capture ABC on HD through firewire. This shows up in my guide data properly. Here is where my confusion lies. I'm able to get USA, SCI-FI and several others over firewire. Madison has USA as channel 34, Eau Claire has it at channel 40. How do I properly remap the Eau Claire channel so Sage can address both boxes for conflicts, etc.. Thanks. --Joel |

You might have it setup right and not realize it. If a channel is on 2 separate numbers (i.e. USA is on 34 and 40) then it'll only show up in the EPG once. But the scheduling system knows you've got both and their appropriate associations; so if one of your tuners is busy it can use the other one to record it on the proper channel.

Thank you for your reply. This brings me back to my original question although in more detail. If I bring up the guide and choose USA, it will default to the DCT-2000 feeding the PVR-250. I would like it to default to the DCT-6000 through Firewire. Similarly, Cinemax is on channel 550 for SD and 776 for HD on Charter. By some coincidence, my Cinemax HD is not 5c encrypted and I can stream through Firewire. Again I have the same issue. Changing the channel to 776 will change the channel on the DCT-2000 even if I disable the channel for it in setup. Is it a simple matter of changing tuner priorities in the sage.priorities file?
Thanks. --Joel |

Yes, you can specify the priority of the tuners in sage.properties. Find the encoder_merit=0 setting and set it to a higher number the higher the priority.

I had done that the other day to make sure that the PVR-250 was the last tuner to be used for anything but had not gone back to check to see if it worked. Tried it last night and it did!
