Angry Hauppauge 500MCE 2nd Tuner not working

I have an Athlon 2800+ w/512DDR and a ATI Radeon 9500pro and a Hauppauge 500MCE card running Windows MCE2004. DIsabled MCE to use Sage 2.1. When I installed the 500MCE, Sage sees both tuners but I only get picture and sound from the Tuner labeled tuner 2. I've tried unistalling then reinstalling 1 tuner at a time. I can always get tuner 2 working but never tuner 1 (even if it's installed by itself). Also, when I get to the configuration page, Sage always shows Tuner 2 above Tuner 1, is that normal? I know that the requirments for an 500MCE is Windows MCE 2005 but is that relevant if I'm using Sage? I've upgraded to thier latest beta with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

What kind of mobo are you using? I had problems with the 500MCE until I changed motherboards to one based on the N-Force chipset. VIA chipsets don't play well with the 500 for some reason. I have the Asus A7N8E-Deluxe.

It's an Albatron II NVIDIA motherboard. I tried to use the capture program that came with the 500MCE and that won't tune it tuner 1 either. Works fine on Tuner 2 though.

Since the Hauppauge software won't work with it, have you contacted Hauppauge yet?

Same problem with PVR-150 with PVR-250

Hey all,

I am having pretty much the exact same problem. When I setup just one tuner (PVR-250 or 150) SageTV works great. When I remove that tuner, and add the other, again it works great! The problem is when I have both tuners added via Setup Wizard in SageTV, I get a garbage picture on the 2nd tuner (no audio either). Drivers I've used were from shs (pvr_2.0.18.22316 for the 150 and 040910 Retail 1.18.021.22254 for the 250). Running on Win MCE 2005, either card works fine outside of Sage that I can tell. Please help, knowing exactly what drivers, what install order and other specifics would help. My SageTV version is 2.1.1.0.

Thank you,
RedR

Back for round 2...

This was a driver problem for me. I ended up using the two driver versions I mentioned, but from a clean slate, adding one at a time making sure that the 150 worked with WinTV and SageTV first. Then added the 250 drivers, again checking both applications as I went. All is well, both tuners are working in SageTV 2.2.2 beta on the server, client running 2.1.1.0. I spose taking time out from beating my head against the wall today to post made the difference..HA!

Enjoy,
RedR
