Dual BT878 based cards
Sorry if this is an old issue, I could not find anything on it when searching.
My setup is a 2.4Ghz P4HT 1GB ram with a PVR-160 (Roslyn), a Avermedia AverTV (BT 878 based software encoding), and an OLD ATI TV Wonder VE (Also BT878 based software encoding). The Roslyn shows up and works (recently got the brightness issue, but thats a different story) no matter the configuration of the other cards. If only one of the 878 based cards is installed (I've just been installing and uninstalling drivers to test this, not physically removing the card) SageTV sees and can use that card. Both of the cards work very well here (The TV Wonder, surprizingly, has as nice of video quality as my Roslyn does (before the brightness issue)) If I install the drivers for both 878 cards Sage does not see either card, just my Roslyn, and if I had either 878 setup as a video source, it is now gone. Uninstalling the drivers for either card and restarting Sage allows Sage to see the other card. Is there any reason running two 878 based cards would be a problem? More importantly, is there a way to fix it? SageTV 6.1.9 Last edited by miriad; 08-17-2007 at 06:25 PM. Reason: More data |

No idea. The cards are unsupported.

These cards both fall under the "Software encoding cards with WDM Drivers" on the system requirements page

So they're not unsupported if used singly but unsupported if using 2 in the same machine. Gerry
