I don't know about any of the other combos, but when you tried two #4's, did you use the new prerelease DualTV driver, or the released verison that was included with the tuners. The released driver only supports 1 tuner card, and that's it. There is a beta driver out that is supposed to support multiple DualTV cards, http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...ghlight=dualtv .

two or more #4 will work with the beta drivers from the Snapstream BeyondTV website. I had put the link in a previous post.
I also had two #2 working with one #4

The issues you are having trying to run all probably has more to do with IRQs and the motherboard you are using. mb with via chipsets have been notorious for issues.

did some searching and it appears that the #3's have a driver limit of 1 card, and that it uses the same chipset as #4. That may be a reason why 3+4 won't work with the released drivers.

I only tried drivers with card.
I now only have:
one pvr350
one AVerMedia MTVP3DM5W PCI Interface AVerTV Purity 3D MCE 500
one NVIDIA DualTV

I only installed drivers that winxp asked for when booting up each card for the first time for the disc included (pvr350 & NVIDIA DualTV) or downloaded drivers from website (AVerMedia dual tuner)

I sent back all the other cards.
I figured somehow I could fix this problem.

Great!
I refuse to go back to pvr500 (I don't think newegg would sell me again)
I wonder if SageTV store would sell me a pvr500 tested??

Maybe try the beta driver for the nVidia card. Maybe the beta driver won't interfere with your AverMedia card. It's worth a shot. Try them from here: Multiple DualTV driver

changed to two dul tuners
AVerMedia Purity 3D MCE 500 ok
Hauppauge PVR-500 (used but tested)
motherboard: ASRock 939Dual-VSTA Socket
cpu: AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice
ram: 1gb
got stuttering, pixelation on Hauppauge PVR-500
(just like 2nd of 3 boards I got from Newegg)
SO....................
I changed motherboard/cpu/ram
MOTHER BOARD: gigabyte GA-K8NS PRO
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
ram:1gb

Now both dual tuners work fine.
Now I got some work to do.
