Thumbs up I have done the switch from MCE... WOW !!!

My experience so far with Sage is positive.
This is mostly due to the awesome support available here. I have never seen such a fast response time .
I am still getting to know the software, but there are so many things to explore my head is about to explode and now need a break.. LOL

But seriously, i am now a converted man.. no more MCE crap..
My wife loves SageMC because it is so familiar to her.. Looks and acts a lot like MCE.

Anyway, enough rambling on. Thanks heaps for the support guys.

cheers

Cool

here is my advice for the next step

o Create a restore point so you can return to working config (creating a full system backup, if you have the capability is even better) should things screw up
o Don't get too tempted to start adding on extra bits without considering how to return to a working config

When I setup Sage, I got a tempted to try to get *everything* working and got a bit bogged down. Take things one step at a time :-)

Cheers

Tim

Well, i think my success was short lived.

After posting this thread, i retired to bed and decided to try out my new toy.
However, after several hours of use, the system became so bogged down and slow, i had to reboot the machine.

I have no idea what is causing this.

1.6.0_01 should be fine. There are some known issues with some of the 1.5 versions.

My advice would be to revert to a stock SageTV install and make sure that's solid before layering a lot of third-party stuff on top of it. Then try your add-ons one at a time, testing thoroughly after each step to make sure things are still working properly. I'm not trying to point fingers, you understand, I'm just saying it's a lot easier to troubleshoot one new thing at a time rather than a whole pile of new stuff all at once.
