Subtitles for Divx files
I have some .avi's with corresponding .srt subtitle files and would like to know if it's possible to display the subtitles within sage. I have vobsub installed and it shows the subtitles when played with windows media player but I get nothing from within Sage.
Thanks, Greg |

It should work. It works for me at least.
Make sure you either have the following in your Sage.properties always_use_dshow_player=true This breaks your ability to play google and youtube videos OR set mplayer/use_for_all_mpeg4_playback=false always_use_dshow_player=false

hmm still not working for me using either of those settings. Is there anything in particular I need to set in vobsub? It's definitely working with Windows Media Player. I'm using Sage v6, btw.

Vobsub has a setting to setup where the .srt files are read from. Usually it includes the current directory, ie the dir in which the movie resides. I have also created another dir in which I store all srt files.
What renderer are you using? default, overlay or vmr9? Have you tried using a different renderer? What version of divx have you installed?

ok, so I tried different renderers and when it is set to 'default' it works, VMR9 and Overlay do not show the subtitles.

That's good.
Are you by any chance running SageTV V5 or before. I used to have the same issue pre V6. These Days, subtitles come up even in VMR9!

no, I'm running v6. I'm using an old Radeon 7000 vid card, could be because of that?

Could be. When I had the same issue with V5, I was using an ATI 9600XT.
I am now using an Nvidia 7600GS.
