Is there a way to *NOT* add new channels?
Tried to search on this, but get a zillion hits for how to add new channels...
Is there a way to stop new channels from being added to my channel list? I have DirecTV and they always add new channels I do not subscribe to, so I then have to go in and delete them from the lineup. Any ideas? Thanks! |

Does unselecting the channels (removing the green dot next to the channel) in the channel setup screen not achieve what you want? They will still appear in the list on that particular page, but will not be part of the lineup (ie. cannot be watched, and do not appear in the TV guide).
Apologies if I've misunderstood your question! Steve. |

I have the channels I subscribe to selected. Every other day new ones show up and then I have to go back in to the channel setup screen and remove them. Yes, I can unselect the channels, but it would be easier if I did not need to. What I want is for them to be added as 'unselected'.
Thanks! |

I asked for this a awhile ago and got no response. I have dish and deal with the same issue. Not life or death, but certainly annoying. I use 3 different EPGs for my differentt dish boxes, so I have to do it 3 times. Big pain in the ass
before anyone asks, why 3 lineups. 1 SD only via USB2 PVR 1 HD & SD MPEG2 only via R5000 1 HD & SD ALL HD Channels when H.264 is supported via newer R5000 |

No, currently, there is no way to prevent new channels from being enabled after they are added to the lineup. Yes, it has been requested in the past, but it hasn't been implemented yet... I can't answer whether it will be.

Once again, my entire system destabilized when new digital channels which are not in the clear were automatically enabled by SageTV. The result is that recording files which can't be parsed by the transcoder get into the list and everything goes downhill.
Why this anti-feature remains is a mystery to me. People have been asking for this to be changed for 4 years now, if not longer. |

XMLTV import tool and a little notepad editing takes care of all types
of add/delete channels. Ray |
