SageTV internal volume control
I'm very happy with how SageTV works for me...it's practically the only one that likes my WinTV-HVR 950 and has the features I need and especially a free TV guide that works in Canada and pulls it from a free source. Anyways, the only thing I don't really like about it is that it uses the volume controls of windows and not it's own internal controls.....Some may use a dedicated computer for there homemade PVR system but my computer is functional all the time and when I want to leave my tv going while surfing I usually end up finding a video I want to watch but I can't turn down the TV and turn up the video because SageTV volume controls control the master volume. It really needs it's own internal control.
I also don't really like that SageTV asks me if I really want to change to a certain channel with a huge window that covers what I am watching...it should ask in a more subtle manner so I can just ignore it and let it change to the channel like it usually does when I don't respond to the message. I don't wanna sound unappreciative because I am not....I see it as constructive criticism and hope you take them into account. Now that I gave specific advice I just wanna say what the thought that I cannot really explain. I think the menu system could use a little simplifying in the fact that there alot of options and hard to find the exact one I would want like quality settings and other stuff...I don't really know how to explain what exactly I mean here..maybe someone else will agree and can be specific. I'm not too worried about this though because I am able to find what I need because I understand computers very well but I just put this out there because since this is TV software it should be made to work extremely easily for a regular (I mean dumb...excuse my term) TV watcher. Thanx and g'nite |

There is a property that binds/unbinds Sage's volume to the system volume, that may be what your looking for.
I don't know the exact wording but a search for "volume" should give you something along the lines of: ui/bind_volume_to_system_volume=true/false P Edit: I was way off It's: media_player_uses_system_volume= Last edited by Polypro; 02-21-2007 at 05:53 PM. |

It sounds that you have issues wih the standard STV. Try installing SageMC, a lot of people find it a vast improvement.

yep use un bind or alternatively use an audigy based card and you'll get that control back.
