Remove "Sleep Mode" from Main menu?

Is there a way to remove or disable "Sleep Mode" from the main menu? My wife keeps selecting it by mistake and can't get back to Sage. We are using the Hauppauge control and can't get back to Sage from it, or can we?

Thanks,

My dynamic menu plugin (see the links in my sig, also used in serveral custom STV's) allows complete customisation of the items on the menus...

I believe one of the buttons on the Hauppauge remote can be configured to un-sleep Sage -- check this thread: http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=4277

I know in MLDUDE's older STV (MLBDUDE2), he had a true/false statement for many menu items (including SLEEP and also SETUP) Have you looked yet at your sage.properties file if he included this option in SageMC?

If you switch to Cayar's STV I can edit the menu I posted at the end of that (extremely long) thread a few days ago to remove whatever you want. PM me.

Thanks, but I much prefer the interface in SageMC. Just a shame there's no easy way to tweak it!

Thanks,
use the most recent hauppauge remote driver and grab the irremote.ini file (and instructions if you want to tweak it) from opus4's signature.

this will let you get full function from the remote to bring sage out of sleep mode at will.

for best results sage needs to be put to sleep when not being used to view tv.

The main menu in SageMC is customizable with the Options command. You can also enable My Menu with the Options command go give you access to Neilms customizable menu.

I'm confused... Doesn't pressing (virtually) any button get you out of sleep mode? I can hit any of the arrow keys, the OK button, the numbers, whatever I want, and it pops up the menu again.

Probably only if you have ScreenSave on Sleep?

Yup - only if sleeping in screen saver mode. If sleeping to the system tray, you have to run the SageTV exe again or send it a command event message.

BTW: Somewhere around post #40 in Hauppauge link #3 in my sig lines are comments about using the remote only with SageTV, setting it so that the remote won't get out of sync if SageTV is put to sleep via the menu option rather than via the remote.

Just saw this - cool! OK, something else to pug in and customize - dynamic menu.

Then I want to see if my computer is up to running your fast forward/rewind plugin, which sounds great. I don't suppose you've thought of doing a slow motion play forwards & backwards equivalent?
