Hi Nielm,

Running the server on linux. This was in the error

Quote:
[Thu Aug 09 23:24:45 EDT 2007] unexpected problem running servlet Acme.Serve.FileServlet: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1
It was a clean install and both files mentioned above are there.

Did you use the installer or zipfile?

If the zipfile, make sure you unpacked it correctly -- you need to overwrite all the files in the webserver directory tree apart from realms.properties (which contains your user/pass).

Specifically in this version you need to overwrite mime.types and servlets.properties in the SageTV/webserver directory.
Used the installer

I used the zip file. I believe I unpacked it correctly. The timestamps on the two files you mention are:

servlet.properties = 8/9/2007 12:25 PM
mime.types = 7/18/2007 1:48 PM

These both match the timestamps on the files contained in the zip.

bcjenkins: is there any more than that?
URL is http://my.server.com:8080/sage/MvpCo...me&confirm=yes

There does not appear to be anything in the logs related to the issue (the newest file in webserver/logs is from last week).

Ok, found it... Another d'oh

A true fix in the works, with maybe the ability to power on an MVP too...
But for the moment, add the following to servlets.properties:

Code:
servlet./sage/MvpCommand.code=net.sf.sageplugins.webserver.ExtenderCommandServlet

Thanks! Does the server/service have to be restarted?

(are you still at V2.2?!)

one more bug for the todo list...
Here's the system stats:

Win2K, SageTV v5.0.4.92, Java v1.6.0_01

Let me know if there's any bug testing with which I can help.

I was afraid of that for linux...
It runs arp -a to get the list of known MAC/ip address combos...

If arp is not in the path of the user that runs sage, or if the output is in a sufficiently different format, it cannot translate the UI context (mac address) to an IP address

Can you check that arp is in the default path, and attach the output of "arp -an" please

Thanks for looking into this.

arp -an produces the same output as arp -a, fyi

you posted about other lineup problems... Does this error go away when the other problems are resolved (it may be caused by attempting to force EPG update on an empty lineup)

I am using the edit show feature to re-add recordings to a new wiz.bin. Works most excellent! (best Bill and Ted air guitar) Is there a way to do it en masse?

Also when doing this, the edl files my properties, etc., are not renamed. Is it possible to rename file.* instead of file.mpg?

TIA

Yes it does. After they fixed the Sage server, now your problem goes away, too.

Did I miss the procedure to fix the MVP error when trying to shut it down on the new version?
