Hard to read scrolling text
Howdy,
On one of the news channels it has scrolling text along the bottom of the screen. This is hard to read, is there a way to improve the quality of it please? Thanks, simon. |

I found that reclock helps with this, but I have problems with stuttering and sync issues after a while.
This is where a hardware decoder makes a real difference over software. I did some testing comparing it to my XCard and Intervideo with and without reclock. My connection to the TV is DVI so it is a good quality connection. John

unreadable horizontal scrolling text (and blurry/stuttering horizontal panning) is usually an interlacing issue... (see www.100fps.com)
If you can change the deinteralcing settings in your MPG decoder, to auto-select or bob (instead of weave) it might help... Each system is different, but I found my best settings were: Overlay renderer Cyberlink PowerDVD4 with HW accelleration and Auto-select deinterlace enabled internally DXVA mode B DXVA deinterlace bob/weave With this, i get good PQ with hardly any deinterlacing artifacts.. |
