SiliconDust Tuners and Sage Compatibility

Looking at the current lineup of SiliconDust products, all I am looking for is a simple tuner device for OTA antenna that will feed into Sage.

I understand the current issues with Sage x64 (I currently have 32-bit installed on my server so I should be good with that concern).

It appears the "equal" to their older models is the "HDHomeRun FLEX DUO HDFX-2US". Is that true?

If I were to get a 4K HDHR version for possible future-proofing (none of my locals are in 4K yet), are they currently backward-compatible and would still work? Or should I avoid those lest I have to do a bunch of extra "stuff"?

TIA.

Tuners: 4 tuners via (2) HDHomeruns (100% OTA, DIY antennas in the attic).
Clients: Several HD300s, HD200s, even an old HD100, all on wired LAN. Latest firmware for each.

I use OpenDCT, so I can't speak to whether they are natively supported within Sage or not. But I can say that it is working perfect thru OpenDCT, all I had to do was stop and restart OpenDCT and it automatically picked up the four new tuners. Also, I have the HDHomeRun CONNECT 4K, which I think is essentially the same as the Flex 4k, just missing the USB port on the back of the unit.

I only use the device currently for 480/720/1080 sources, so I can't speak to 4K usage.

When you say "it", what is "it"? The Flex Duo I asked about?

In your last sentence/paragraph of your initial post, you asked if the 4K HDHR version would be backward-compatible and still work. The "it" that I was referring to is my HDHomeRun CONNECT 4K, which is the previous version of the HDHR Flex 4K.

These are the specs on the 4K tuner:

HDHomeRun FLEX QUATRO
• 4 tuners
• ATSC 3.0 (on 2 tuners)
• ATSC 1.0 (on 4 tuners)
• ClearQAM US-cable (on 4 tuners)

So back to the original question, does the Flex Duo work out of the box in SageTV as with their older dual tuners? I'm assuming so.

On the Quatro, do the four ATSC 1.0 tuners show up in SageTV similarly?
