SiliconDust "Extend": Tuners Not Showing Up in Sage ?
Have two existing SiliconDust boxes ("Dual").... 2 tuners each... no problems.
Just added a SD "Extend" and Sage is not seeing it in the "Add Source" list. Shows the existing "Dual" tuners - all 4, no problem. Did a Channel Scan in Sage, Channel Scan in the SD box.... still nada. ??

You should see the tuners even in they are set to transcode. Did you run the SiliconDust setup application, configure it to SageTV and scan them in the SD application?

Ran HDHomeRunSetup, selected the new box in Device Input, clicked "Scan"... Made sure Configuration | General | BDA Compatibility Mode = "SageTV". No change - either to the Android app's abending or SageTV's not seeing it. One possible clue: HDHomeRun Setup | Configuration | Status for the new device shows as "New" and there is only line line for it with Tuners=2. The existing "Dual" devices all show up as "OK" with two lines for each (one for each tuner in the box.) FWIW, HDHomeRun VIEW seems to run OK under Windows - having been re-installed from hdhomerun_windows_20150826.exe.

This morning, I opened up SageTV | Setup | Setup Video Sources, and clicked "Add New Source" .... and there it was: the new tuner was listed on the "Please select the video capture device listed below that you wish to configure at this time.... dialog. So I stepped through the setup procedure and clicked "Finish Source Setup". But the new device's tuners still do not appear on the list in Setup Video Sources. I guess it's time to just let it cook for another day or so and see what happens..... -)

What I found was that 3 of my 4 existing tuners were slightly wacked. Months and months ago, the lineup here changed from something like "Philadelphia area" to something like 'Digital Boadcast 19301". When that finally dawned on me, I made the change in Sage - but only to one tuner, figuring the others would follow and not checking up on that assumption. To make a long story short, I deleted the three tuners whose lineup was wrong and then started adding tuners - telling each to copy the existing lineup. Wound up with all six tuners (including the two new ones from the new box) and all seems well. I say Case Closed.
