Can the web interface remove channels?

My provider added a ton of channels I have to remove. Is there a way to do that from the web interface? I'd rather sit at my PC than have to use the remote on my TV to disable them! I couldn't find anything that would let me do that..

I guess I might be able to use placeshifter....

Don't think so other than PlaceShifter. It would be nice if you could dump the channel list into Excel and then put 0 or 1 for channels that you want or not.

There is a plugin that lets you export and import a lineup. Maybe you could futz with the text file that it creates

See info on that plugin here:https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/sho...=lineup+export

It looks like first you have to disable all channels and then import what you want to enable.

You can try that import/export plugin. Enable all channels, export, open the file in excel (or a text editor) and delete the lines for channels that you don't want and then import. A bit of a pain but probably quicker than using Placeshifter or a remote control.

Ok.. I'll try it. The link for the plugin didn't come up the first time I read your message.

Thanks again!

Yah, I screwed up and forgot to post the link. There is a bit of a nuance if you are using the unRAID or Linux version of Sage but if you are on Win it will be easier. Worst case scenario is you after to start from scratch, but you may have to do that anyway. You should be able to find the Plugin from the Setup - Install Plugin part of the SageTV UI. It is called "Import/Export Channel Lineup" by 49 studebaker

Me Too. It creates the files in \appdata\sagetv rather than \appdata\sagetv\server. And the files have wonky names like S3BUTV~3 with no extension. You might have to point to that folder when you go to import or, move your edited file to the \appdata\sagetv\server folder.

See this thread: https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65019

Used it last weekend and it worked fine for me to. The export created the file in the opt/sagetv directory as noted above, but prefixed by a windows path (i.e. the file name was server\blah blah blah blah.export). i just moved it to the right spot, dropped the path from the filename, and renamed it to .import.

I.e. mv "server\blah blah blah.export" server/"blah blah blah.import"

Lineups imported without issue. This is an old plugin, I remember using it a number of years ago. It's probably no longer maintained.

I use Placeshifter all the time to manage channels; you can al so do so directly on your server.

For sure, but it is painfully slow when you want to disable hundreds of channels and you are pressing - Down, Enter 300 times each. It would be nice if you could disable a range of channels easily or do it by editing a text file in excel.

I enable/disable channels via the Batch Metadata Tools (BMT) web interface. It provides a list of all your channels and you check the boxes of the ones you want to disable and at the bottom there is a save button. It works well for me. I can't remember what you have to do to get it going but I don't think it was too hard. For me, I go to http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:8080/bmt/#status and then click Configure, and then click Channels. If you are already using the Sage TV Web interface then this may work if you use your servers IP address.

Good Luck!

What about using Placeshifter to do the reverse? Disable all channels and then only enable the ones that you want?

Too bad, that would be a useful feature.
