Feature suggestion - ability to remove channels from lineup while watching them

It would be nice to be able to get rid of a channel in the lineup while viewing it without going back to the Configure Tuners section - a "Remove channel from lineup" while going through the guide - or watching a channel.

I subscribe to U-Verse 100 - which means I get about 100 of the 400 channels U-Verse offers. It seems I am always finding channels that I haven't subscribed to - and the only way to get rid of them involves about a hundred button presses on the remote - ok maybe I'm exaggerating. Also, U-Verse offers both an SD and HD version of many channels. I only want the HD version, but sometimes I see that I haven't turned the SD version off - this is usually while I'm in the schedule recordings section.

So, now that I think about it "Remove channel from lineup" would be nice to have"
- While viewing the guide
- While watching a channel
- While in the schedule recordings section

I suppose it would be of use, however, I wouldnt' want that feature too close to the 'normal use' functionality. It shouldn't be a frequent occurance to need to change your channel lineups, and you don't want it inadvertantly being affected.

It could always be a feature that can be turned on/off, like deleting videos. . .

I agree. Isn't this why there is the preview option in the lineup config? That is exactly what I did when setting up my channels for Dish Network way back when. I just went thru all the channels in the lineup config and had Sage tune them and if they didn't work (or I didn't want them such as the Home Shopping Network), I just clicked 'em off.

I would NOT want this functionality in the main Sage screens even if it is something you could turn on and off in the setup. It would be too easy for me to leave it on and my wife inadvertently drop some of the channels off our lineup. Changes to the User Experience (i.e. Guide, Media Files, Online Content, etc.) should never be an option from those windows. Coming from a programming/project methodology background, the End User should never be able to make changes to "Production". My wife knows not to touch the Setup screen and therefore I never have to worry about something being lost/broken.
