HDHomerun reception problems
I'm using a SiliconDust HDHomeRun Connect Duo HDHR5-2US Dual Tuner at the moment.
When viewing via my iPad, Samsung Android phone or PLEX Live DVR, reception is fine, no problem. I also have a raw feed from my roof going through Satellite/Antenna diplexers in various rooms, and those OTA pictures are solid. But when viewing through my SageTV server software, lots of pixilation, dropouts, picture disruption etc. Any idea what Sage may be having trouble with? I've checked everything twice but am coming up blanks. I'm making some recordings currently and will see if it's effecting recordings, or if it's just a 'Live' problem. I'd like to blame my network somehow, but because my cell phone and iPad look good via my wireless router, I can't see where a network problem would be.

yup, I can try that. It is the only item hooked up by wire, as my other tests were on wifi devices.

I am having hiccups with my OTA signals as well. I suspect it has something to do with signal interference aka new wifi towers with 5G etc and/or drivers. I could be out to lunch on that theory but you never know. What I had to do was relocate & recalibrate the antenna again to get it to behave for awhile.

I’ve tried bypassing any switches, going directly to my router, but to no avail. There’s something about the combination of SageTV, my W7, 32 bit system, and how it’s processing the HDHomerun’s tuners which is causing the signal breakdown. Every other way to view my OTA antenna, including HDHomerun apps on iOS and Android, work just fine.
Maybe it’s a Java thing? Processor problem (Pentium Athlon X4)? And yes, it’s also lousy on SageTV media extenders, so there’s a link to the server software I reckon. Mystery continues...

In another thread aren’t you also having spinning circles and other system issues? Maybe it’s time for a replacement setup?

hehe, yeah, that’s coming. But this reception problem has gone on since day-one. I just noticed by accident recently that my antenna feed wasn’t the problem.

On your SageTV system open a broswer and entering the IP address of your HDHomeRun tuner. There is an option to view live broadcast for each channel. Try viewing one of the channels that had a problem. Also, is the problem consistent? Does it occur at specific times?
