Problems doing qam and atsc with hdhomerun

When i run Sage Tv using the HD Homerun, and in SETUP indicate that both tuners are for Digital Broadcast using Antenna (using 2 coax ant inputs to the HDHR) all is o.k. i can record one channel and watch another, so i know both tuners work in ATSC mode. Now, i took a line from my cable, and to test it, i connected it directly to my HDTV, and set the TV up for cable mode (QAM). The TV displays Digital Cable channel 9-1 in HD. I then took this line and connected it to the Antenna 1 input on the HDHR. I went into the Sage "Setup Video Sources" menu, picked HDHR tuner 1, indicated Digital TV with CABLE, and then indicated to Scan Channels. Well, it shows that i have a zero signal level, and when it scans, it gets no channels. i even repeated this same process for Antenna input 0, to no avail!! ANY IDEAS??

Are you using the latest firmware/software for HDHR? 20080307?

Did you follow the HDHR setup instructions from the SiliconDust website? You need to set the HDHR input source to 'Digital Cable' as opposed to 'Digital Antenna'. There is also a different method for setting up your channels which uses the HDHR setup application as opposed to Sage's channel scan.
