hauupauge pci tuner failure
When I do a scan using w-scan in linux I get the message
" LG Electronics LGDT3306A VSB/QAM Frontend" doesnt support TERRESTRIAL -> SEARCH NEXT ONE. " Is my tuner toast? It worked fine until about a week ago. Is this a firmware / driver corruption?

okay turns out it was antenna signal. back up & running after reconfiguring all hardware.
