SageTV + hauppauge QuadHD + DVB-C

Dear Community,

I’m trying to get SageTV to work with my Hauppage QuadHD Tuner, but I can’t setup it up for DVB-C.
As you can see, I have 2 of them (screenshot 1)

After selecting the first option, the next screen is determining the signal (screenshot 2)

After it has finished determining the broadcast standard, it shows only DVB-T (screenshot 3).

On both of my cards, cable (digital) TV is connected.
I can not see any option to select DVB-C instead of the DVB-T in the screenshot (3) above. When I proceed with DVB-T, of course SageTv can't find any channels.

I do not have any problems with mediaportal or Nextpvr to find DVB-C. I’ve uninstalled both of these programs so SageTv can freely use both tuner cards, but no luck…

Any ideas how I can let SageTv recognize the signal as DVB-C instead of DVB-T?

What is the model of the card?
If using Windows, what does device manager show as the description?

Which os are you using for your server?

I am running Mx Linux 19 with a Quad tuner atsc version. & have successfully ran win 10 as well. Not sure on the driver situation for win 10 with dvb drivers.

Did you also install the required firmware file?

The hauppauge devices require 2 parts;
1 driver file
2 firmware file

In linux you can try testing with kaffeine media player ( the linux equivalent of win tv application)

In linux kernel 4.19 & later the necessary components are present. Not sure about all versions of earlier kernels ( depends on if the mainline edits were incorporated)

Also read :

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/suppo...ort_linux.html where it mentions needing to install the firmware.

Note: not all cable TV networks send clear DVB-C channels. Please check with your local cable operator for the availability of clear digital cable TV

***https://github.com/tsduck/tsduck/issues/229 Here is someone else attempting to access dvb-c tuning on their setup. The issue seems to be incomplete hardware setup ie drivers.

I have a new build of DShowCapture.dll which I'm testing that may resolve your issue if you're happy to give it a try

64bit

32bit
