Some movies start in middle of show

I have some movies that show a marker in the time line around somewhere in middle of the show but not at the beginning where it should be. You reset watch and the movie will start there. If you start at that point and hit skip back it will go to the beginning of the show and play fine but the time line shows negative numbers. VLC and Air Video play fine. I have deleted comskip & properties files. Repaired 9.18 multiple times with reboot between times. What could possibly be causing this issue? Ideas appreciated!

I think the answer is "it depends."

We probably need more information about your setup to answer. Which tuners? Which source (which cable company, or satellite)? Is OpenDCT or SageDCT in the mix? Any information can help come up with ideas.

It seems like something in the timeline is screwed up. I have found issues like you describe when I edit or move a file unless I change the date/time created property back to the original date/time.

I use a single HDPVR to DirectTV receiver. 2600 movies and 25 TB storage. I have had drives go off line once in a while. If a drive starts taking a few errors that I see with HD Sentinel I shut down Sage and copy all of a drives contents to a new larger drive and put the old drive on a shelf (poor man's backup ;>) )
Never saw this issue with the original Sage and not sure where or how Sage would mark the beginning of the file. And like I said VLC and HD air Server play the file fine.

Have you tried Setup->Detailed Setup->Advanced->Rescan Existing Library Files?

Yes - I have rescanned manually and once daily.

The specific place I posted? I don’t think Scan Imported Media or Automatic Library Rescan (which look for new files) are the same as the one in advanced which redetects file formats and metadata on existing media.
