Switched show in the middle of recording????

Hi,
this evening I had Sage beta 2.015 set with Angel on TNT as my fav and it recorded up till the last 5 mins and then skipped and seemed to then record CHarmed for the rest of the time it should have been recording Angel?
Anyone see this happen before? Was there something set wrong?
Help
Patrick

Check your system time versus real/cable company time.

What it actually did was like a skip,, it still had Angel on the name of the show but it had skipped forward 5 mins into the beginning of Charmed. Why would it screw up like that?

Well thinking maybe that show was a one off error, I now looked at other shows it recorded in the last day or so, it has cut them into section, some only 1 minute long. Is this due to the disk usage or is it something else that is causing Sage to cut shows up like this?

Ok,,, since my last post on this I reinstalled OS and did a fresh install of Sage RC1, deleted the properties file and only kept the wiz.bin file. Last night Whoopie got trashed. I am posting the log file and also the properties file to see if anyone can figure out why this happened. Whoopi airs at 8:00 pm PST.
This is very frustrating, particularly with my wife still getting used to the PVR experience and has been really pissed with such occurances.

You think it is a conflict with the USB-UIRT?
Very possible, problem for me is that the system is virtually useless without it, my cable box is changed with it and also my remote control uses it.
Did installing OS as Standard machine help with your setup? My motherboard is an Epox 8RDA3+ Nforce2 board with all the latest drivers BUT I will say the Asus board which I had to rma seemed to run Sage better, even though I have no exact comparisons with the new beta etc.

standard (i.e. non-ACPI) XP install did *not* help, even after moving pci cards around so that none of the sound card, hauppauge or usb controller shared any IRQ's.

note that Tunaboo also had occasionally the same issue but it was intermittent with him and he's not using the usb-uirt at all on that machine

so although the usb-uirt was clearly an element to the problem in my case, it is not necessary for it to be present for the problem to occur.

If I hadn't eventually resolved it with the USB PCI card, I would have probably bought a different IR transmitter and used it with Girder + Exetuner + Sage
or maybe the actisys which is the other natively-supported by sage ir unit
which is what I might recommend for you if you can establish that the gaps do not occur without the usb-uirt installed.

(apologies to Jon Rhees, who actively tried to help, and may yet still, if he ever gets ahold of a 440BX board)

Well again my board is Nforce2, BUT hopefully my solution may come in the form of my returned A7N266-VM/AA rev 1.05 when HOPEFULLY Asus gets it back to me, is alread 2 and a half weeks since I mailed it back to them (they are not far from where I live)
My memory with that board was that everything ran smoothly on it, even though I was only up to beta 2.014 at that point (I think).
Seems to me that if Sage are touting native USB-UIRT support, then they should solve this problem.
Did you try no Sage USB-UIRT support by using Girder for all control of Sage and cable box?
Something I was looking at through my files is that it only happened during this show, everything else recorded correct, what I was doing at that time though was watching a show Sage recorded a few days before and I had been flicking through it, so again it may have been the USB-UIRT OR it may also be a hard drive dma access issue.

Currently trying to recreate the issue,, recording with all 3 tuners and viewing/skipping through a show to see if it will do the same thing.

Well I just found something really weird,, the night before at the same time another show was cut up in the same way, different channels, started at same time to record show (late I might add) 8:10pm. So something is happening at this time. I recorded American Idol on another channel last night and it was fine. VERY strange.
