Same Issue

I have the same issue. Put up with it for a while but it happens often enough to ruin the viewing experience of most programs. Server is up to date Windows 10 Pro 1709. Q9550 @ 2.83GHz. 8 GB. Been using sage since version 1. The hardware in use has been the same since version 6. Clients are HD300s. Anyone come up with anything other than downgrading to 9.1.1.651?

I'm suspicious of other clients changing channels or starting to watch recordings. It seems to come and go in streaks for me. Could coincide with family members doing other operations at that time which might explain why not everyone is affected. (multiple simultaneous user issue)

How can I help zero in on the root cause?

P.S. my signature is has not been updated in a long time. Several changes since that was current.

I just took a look at the original logs that were posted and I am definitely not an expert, however it appears to me that the desired mpeg2 decoder (Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder) fails and instead Sage is using an alternate decoder (MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2 Video Decoder). At least the direct show graph is being built with the MainConcept video decoder for some reason.

The only thing I can come up with is the Java garbage collection method was changed to G1GC in 9.1.0 and reverted back in 9.6.0 since it was suspected to have memory leak issues. It may be time to turn it back on or at least make it a command line or registry option. Java has had some updates and bug fixes since those original issues that may have helped.

Yeah. That one is a classic too small of heap issue.

I looked up another thread I had posted to previously. I had forgotten that I had posted a way to turn G1GC back on without a code change.

Those in this thread having issues, try the environment variable setting in the post by "wubdich" in the thread below, which also includes string deduplication. If this works, ideally we should add an easier to remember command line option to turn this on.

In my first posting this issue was not addressed

Whenever the client loses connection with the server it says it is trying to reconnect but it cannot if I close the client and restart it it connects.

I previously stated

"2) I can connect with the sage client to the sage server and watch video but if the sage client system goes into sleep mode when returning it tries to re-establish connection to the sage server but is unable to connect unless i clolas and restart the sage client"

I am still having the original issue but not quite as bad.

please remember this is a win 10 install

any help with the connection issue would be appreciated
