Switched to SD, most channels "No DATA"
I've been messing around with this all evening, I've removed and added video source, scanned for channels, twice now, and the same thing happens. The lower channels mostly populate but above about channel 20 probably 80% are "No Data".
The channels work if I tune them, there's just no program info. I'll use ESPN as an example. In Channel Setup everything is populated (Logical/Physical/Station ID/Desc) for ESPN_HC, ESPN_CL, ES2H_HC and ESP2_CL. I can tune any of them but no data from SD. In System Info "Last EPG Update" is always a current time and "Next EPG Update" always says 0 minutes. It's been years since I've had to mess with my setup and I'm totally lost. Is it SD? Is it something on my end? I keep seeing references in the forum to "force an EPG update" but never anything explaining how to do that. Win 7 x64, 6GB, i5, HD200 Just upgraded from my stable V7 to V9 I have an image of my V7 setup, if I restore it is there another EPG source besides SD I can use with it? I did get some "Out of Memory" system errors and I eventually found where to change that in the registry, bumped it to 1024. |

How long did you wait? I found it took over an hour to finish updating the EPG, during which time it always said next update in 0 minutes. Once it finally finished, it changed to ~24 hours and started counting down from there.
To force an EPG update in Sage you need to go into the source setup and make some change to the lineup (disable a channel for a few seconds then reenable it). Or if you use the web server plugin there is a button to force an update.

I just checked it this morning, about 9 hours after my post, and it gives a "last Update" of 20 minutes ago and 0 minutes to the next update still. And there's been no change in the guide, most of the channels still say no data.

Channel names
I would guess that your channel names don't match the channel names in the SD lineup you are using?

How do I check that? I don't see anywhere on SD's site I can see a list of channels to compare to what I have. The channel list was pulled fresh during the setup of the source.

Ok, I discovered something interesting. When I go to Zap2It and look at the Hallmark Channel it has an ID of 19933. In the listing pulled down by SD the Hallmark channel has three entries, 30, 30-1 and 30-2 (HALP, HALH_HC and HALL_CL) with station IDs of 19933, 327 and 293.
When the channel scan was done it disabled channel 30, enabling only 30-1 and 30-2. Channel 30 has an ID of 19933, matching Zap2it. When I enabled that channel I get a listing. Tried the same thing with ESPN, enabled the channel without the -x and now I get a listing. There are a bunch of channels, probably all the no data ones, that have a channel number without the -x that were disabled in the channel scan. I can go through and enable/disable which will probably solve the issue but can anyone explain why that happens? What's the diff between channels without or without the -x? Edit: The lower channels, 4,5,7,etc. only have the -x entries, no disabled channel without the -x, and they have listings. This almost makes me long for the days of 3 or 4 OTA channels and all you had to worry about was pointing the antenna in the right direction. Last edited by Remo; 06-24-2017 at 11:48 AM. |

That didn't work. It fixed a few but the listings for many are not right. For instance, channel 54 says Disney but is actually The Learning Channel. My provider's listing says it should be Disney. I also, just for jollies, cleared all the channel mappings, in case it was inheriting some old mappings I had done. It didn't help. |
