Some issues after upgrading from v7 to v9
I followed the relatively simple steps of installing in place on my existing v7 server. Had to set up the OTA tuners with SD, no problem. For the most part it looks and feels the same. I performed the 2nd install repair procedure and also the obligatory full reboot.
1. All of my favorites are gone. 2. Import Media directories search seems not quite right. I have some downloaded mkv files that would previously show up in search but don't now using the same search parameters. (e.g. S09E37) update: IF I turn on ONe Touch Numeric Text search then the downloaded files do appear in the search results. Last edited by alwzn4vr; 06-20-2017 at 11:19 AM. Reason: update |

When you did the install over v7 did you click the options button before install if your sagetv is not in the default location. Also the favorites is in your wiz.bin in case you went with new wiz.bin (or it installed in default location not v7 location)

Favorites are stored in wiz.bin.
If you backed-up before running the v9 installer, you should still have a copy of the old wiz.bin. If you shut down Sage completely (including stopping the service), you should be able to copy the wiz.bin from your backup over the top of the wiz.bin in your sagetv installation folder. Then re-start Sage (it may take a few minutes to launch the first time, since Sage will update wiz.bin to the new format and may need to do other housekeeping). If there are still problems, look for a log file in the sage installation folder (sagetv_0.txt). You can look through this log files for error messages that may have been posted when Sage tried to open wiz.bin, or post a zipped copy of it here for someone to look at.

Aha, I never noticed an option to switch directories. As it turns out the install ended up in C:\Program Files\SageTV even though the original was in D:\SageTV. Mystery solved. I supposed I can just shutdown the SageTV service and replace the old wiz.bin with the old one and redo the sources again for Schedules Direct.

Correct, copying the wiz.bin file got the favorites back.

I meant the tuner sources shouldn't have to be redone since they are not in wiz.bin. |
