Service can't see local drive or connect to Schedules Direct
I upgraded my V7 install to V9.1.2.662 this morning with the Windows installer. At the same time, I upgraded Java to 1.8. After doing so, I'm having all sorts of strange issues with the service that are probably related. With the service enabled and running as LocalSystem, my LOCAL drive isn't visible. When I try to manually specify a recordings path, I'm told that the directory doesn't exist. It offers to create it, but the menu option to do so is unresponsive. I also get pestered about the Google weather plugin being needed, but there's no option to install it and the option to ignore it doesn't respond to input. Switching a tuner to Schedules Direct results in an immediate error message stating that the Schedules Direct server could not be contacted. This happens before any prompt for credentials.
If I disable the service, all of these issues go away, but although I'm able to enter credentials for Schedules Direct and choose a lineup, I still lack a program guide or any option to view live TV. I'm reverting to an image backup for now, but I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone has any ideas. Barring any, I'll probably try a fresh install followed by a copy of sage.properties and wiz.bin when the next maintenance window comes. Thanks! |

Eh, the lack of guide and live TV options running sans-service was user error. I now have a functioning install, save for the ability to run as a service. However, I'm in wiz.bin purgatory. All my favorites are present after starting up with a fresh copy of my V7 wiz.bin backup. Shortly thereafter, perhaps when I do anything that'd write to the file, it gets flagged as corrupt and all my favorites are tossed. Fun times.

Can you post the sagetv log file for when it gets a corrupted Wiz file?

I opted to start fresh with a new wiz.bin and have been running V9 for a couple of days so those files have been overwritten. Still, I'll drop the old wiz.bin in during the next maintenance window to see if I can get useful info. Might also spend more time looking for an indication of why my service won't work properly... thinking now that maybe it is but the symptoms are of the (local) client not communicating with it correctly. |
