Hoping to get help with my network setup.

I'm trying to use a Verizon AP (specifically their jetpack Ellipsis MHS815L) and ditch Charter internet, but I'm struggling setting up my Sagetv Server to be able to utilize a wireless internet connection to the AP for things like EPG updates while simultaneously connecting the server to the LAN for my HD300s. I thought that maybe I could bridge the LAN and Wireless adapters on my server (Win7 pro), but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?

Oh, and I already tried to use my router as a bridge/repeater to connect directly to the Verizon AP, but aside from people on the internet saying they have done this successfully, I have to been able to configure it this way and Verizon tells me that non of their APs are designed to support a bridged connection.

Extra notes: I bought a USB wireless adapter for my server to connect to the Verizon AP (normally it has been wired directly to my router while using Charter internet) since I couldn't get the router to bridge to the Verizon AP. So the Server has both a wireless connecting and wired to utilize. Also, the router is a TP-Link TL-wr1043nd v2 with DD WRT flashed onto it. After failing to bridge the router and AP with the factory firmware I decided to try DD-WRT firmware. Again no success.

Is your server able to connect to the AP and access the Internet fine? If so, probably the easiest would be to plug your router into the LAN with the server and HD300s, and let it handle DHCP. Nothing on the (wired) LAN would be able to reach the Internet, though!

I don't know much about DD-WRT, but this looks like what you really want: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.ph..._Mode_Wireless. I once had an ISP who wouldn't put their modem/router into bridged mode and had to do something similar, (basically connect a router to the ISP's modem/router and have a double NAT).

Using the server to connect to the AP, while still having the router handing out the DHCP assigned IP addresses can get complicated. The DHCP server tells the various devices how to get to the internet (what 'gateway' to use), and it, by default, will use it's own IP for that. The best option for you is to figure out why the router won't connect to the AP, and just go that route. The AP likely also has a DHCP server, so it may be an issue of conflicts between the two as well. If that's the case, you might be best off disabling DHCP on the router, and setting the router to connect to the AP in "Client Bridge" mode. This will connect the LAN ports of the router directly to the routed side of the AP, so any new devices on the LAN will ask for DHCP server, and find it from the AP - get it's IP address from it, and properly route to the internet via that link. Some requirements - you need to make sure the router's LAN port's IP address is on the same subnet as the IP's hadned out but he AP (so if you connect your phone to the AP, and it gets assigned a 192.168.1.xxx address, you need to set your router's LAN IP to a 192.168.1.xxx address that is outside the DHCP range of the AP).
