Sage has stopped recording ANYTHING
Happened to look at "upcoming" and out of the blue, there is NOTHING.
Favorite shows recorded last night. One custom program recorded this morning. Nothing since. So this must have happened sometime since last night. All Favorites are still intact. They show upcoming episodes. Program guide has all shows which are favorites in bold, as though it knows. However, nothing is set to record. And when I manually try to set something to record, it acts as though I did it, but no marker shows up ("M") and it doesn't appear it's going to record. I've tried restarting the server, no dice. Anyone have any ideas? Help?!?

When I've seen this in the past, it usually means there are no tuners available. Sometimes a reboot of the server [and tuners] takes care of it (you mention it doesn't help). If not, start investigating where you tuners or lineup went.

I can tune in to live TV just fine. All epg data is there. Maybe I need another reboot...

Go with a full reboot.... shut down SageTV, shut down the computer and turn it back on.
If that doesn't help, go in and make sure your favorites are still there. If they are there, and you use the "additional airings" does that show anything? It they are there and seem to be working from there I'd go back and look at the last recordings made. There have been instances in the past where a corrupt recording could cause this symptom. I'm just guessing here, but I think it is because when the scheduler is looking for things to record it "gags" on the bad recording and basically crashes the scheduler. Try watching all the last recordings made and if you find a "bad" recording delete it, or at least move the file off to a folder that SageTV can't see. Then reboot again. Oh, and did you change the carny setting that people have been talking about to speed up SageTV startups? If so then that seriously delays the scheduler and it could take many hours before it runs and populates your upcoming recordings. At least that is the impression I get from what I've read, so I'm just living with my 44-46 minute startups.

Sorry I forgot to return and post the resolution....
So it was a complete mystery. I have not changed a setting on my SageTV system in probably a year or so, and suddenly the favorites just decided they were not going to record. I discovered it Thursday night, approaching 8 pm EST, so I went into the EPG and highlighted "Big Bang Theory" and hit the "Record" button on the remote. All it did was show the "!" icon (as though it were resolving a conflict but no actual conflict showed anywhere)... it did not show as planning to record. Midway through the show, I tuned into it live, and it played just fine, but the time bar showed red, meaning it had not been recorded up to that point. When I hit Stop, it asked what I wanted to do ("stop recording and keep partial file", etc.) and I didn't really pay attention, but I think that's what I chose. Lo and behold, after that, the show had actually recorded (the whole thing, from the start), and I had stopped it halfway through. Hmmm. Yet nothing else I had scheduled to record had "secretly" been recording, so clearly it had to do with me tuning in live. Then I thought about my plugins, and whether one could have something to do with it. My first thought was the "Disable favorites" plugin. I disabled the plugin and re-enabled it, and nothing happened. But then I went into a favorite, and, using the plugin, I disabled it, then re-enabled, and... Voila! the show popped back into my "upcoming" list. Unfortunately... that meant we had to go through all our favorites (170-some), disable and re-enable them one by one. A pain, yes, but better than having to delete the old favorite and (re)schedule it anew. Plus it gave my wife and I a chance to finally sit down and think about what we really still watch (along with deleting at least a dozen or two shows which had been long since cancelled but were still in our favorites list). So, long story short, after spending probably an hour or so going through every favorite in our list, and (if not deleting it) disabling and re-enabling them, we are back to a fully working system.
