Can a recording be stopped without being deleted?

Is it possible to stop a manual and/or favorite recording before the end of the show and have Sage keep the already recorded portion of the show? Whenever I test it out I only get a "Cancel" option which seems to immediately delete the entire show.

The only way i know of is to adjust the recording stop time to be earlier. Pretty much 1 minute from where you currently want to stop.

I ask this question a while back with no success. The above sollution should work.

Sometimes it would be nice to just record a minute or two or seconds of a show. You can not just hit record and then stop to do this. It will be deleted.
I'm going to try the above idea.

Wow, that sounds like a pain. I'll give it a shot though and see how it works. Shouldn't have to worry about it too often.

Thanks.

On a favorite if you mark it watched and press stop it should stop recording and keep the file. I would test it first to see if it behaves the way you want it to before trying it out on something you actually want to keep.

Interesting. I'll definitely give that a shot...

A combination of setting the option 'delete liveTV when IR is disabled' to false (to prevent them from being deleted), and my Delete Partial Recordings import (to allow you to see the icomplete recordings on disk) will allow you to hit Cancel Recording for in-progress manual recordings, and still keep the files on disk.
