MKV can't find an encoder?

I haven't tried to watch an MKV file on the open source sage since I came back - trying to now and I get this error:

Code:

I do have the HAALI media splitter installed on the server. Double clicking the file itself works on the server also (in Windows Media Player)...

It shouldn't need an encoder to watch an imported file. findBestEncoderForNow Is to find a tuner to use to watch a live tv airing (i think).

I used to have strange issues with v7 and .mkv files. It was related to the splitter built into sage (assuming this is a windows client) and once I disabled that it worked just fine.

It started working after I moved the files into a directory Structure that Plex wanted. After sage saw the new location they played fine.

So. I don't know.

It's because the timestamp on it was in the future.

Ah - that show does involve a lot of time travel. That must have been it.
