Kodi SageTV Plugin Stopped Working

I am in the process of moving from my Windows SageTV Server to a Linux SageTV Server. I have Kodi installed on both and had been using the Kodi SageTV add-on on the windows server for a while. I had a special modified version that looked for the Simplejson 3.3.0 which has been working well for some time On setting up the Linux Server I could not get it to work though. So comparing both server setups I discovered that the Add-On stopped working on the Windows Server at some point though I do not know specifically when. I had updated several SageTV plugins and moved to java 1.8_111 on the windows server which is what is on the new Linux box so I assume this is a likely cause? I know little about Java or Python though there seems to be a python error pulling back the directory listing for watched shows based on what I can see in the logs. Is it possible some of the Sagex updates or the move to the latest Java have broken this? Just curious.....

Were you able to figure out the issue?

Actually I believe I did. I loaded an older Java version 1.7.80 on the new linux box and everything once again worked fine as it did before. Remember I am using a modified Kodi SageTV Add-on. I think I posted it somewhere in these forums a few months back.

Hi @phantomii,

Thanks for posting. Funny enough I had posted part of the Android fix way back on the XBMC thread.

I've also run into the issue with this addon no longer working now that I've upgraded to v9 Sage.

The specific error I run into on Kodi is that the "addon requires sagex-api-services version 7.1.9.12."

Did you fix this problem? I found your posted files here:
https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/sho...633#post588633

but that does not seem to be the fix for this issue, for running SageTV9.

Are you still on v7 for the Windows server?

I am in the process of moving from a windows 10 box to a linux box. my mods worked fine on windows 7 and 10 and it is working now on linux. I have confirmed the Java 8 is an issue as the linux and windows boxes would not work with java 8. I downgraded the linux box to the last version of java 7 a few days back an my mod works well there when it did not work with Java 8. All my Sage plugins are current.

I meant, are you on SageTV 7 or SageTV 9?

Okay, I figured out my problem, which was unrelated to the Kodi plugin.

In my upgrade from Sage7 to Sage9, some plugins got bonked, including the sagex-api, which is required by the Kodi plugin.

Uninstalled a lot of plugins, reinstalled them, now up and running as before.

Thanks!

Good to know that v8 java is also a definite culprit (confirmed by me during my troubleshooting for the SageTV issue).
