HD PVR IR blaster spontaneously stopped working - but ONLY on SageTV

Hello all,

My HD-PVR was running fine until last night. At some point, it [edit: the IR blaster, not the HD PVR] stopped working completely (both SageTV and the BlastCfg program). I turned the HD-PVR off and then on again. Tested with BlastCfg and it seemed to work. Tried SageTV, no dice. The IR blaster isn't even lighting up, like the signal isn't even getting to it.

I've tried re-installing the driver. I've removed the video source in SageTV and re-added it to force it to reconfigure the tuner. I've rebooted both the HTPC and the HD PVR. The result is always the same. BlastCfg works, SageTV doesn't.

Also, I've discovered that setting BlastCfg IR code 0001 seems to cause SageTV to try to set the channel (the IR blaster flashes) but none of the others do. Unfortunately, my box is code 0085.

Any ideas?

Edit: Firewire and serial channel changing aren't options (in Canada, cable companies aren't required to activate them). I could get a USB UIRT, but it looks like no one sells them in town so I would have to have it shipped in which means SageTV would be essentially useless for at least three days. I would rather avoid this if at all possible.
