Replicating Existing V7 System on a Test System
I have moved SageTV to a new computer, but that involved installing a new copy, plugins, etc and then moving the wiz.bin.
I want an exact copy of my current V7 system (including all plugin, mods, etc.) to test the V9 upgrade. The hardware configurations are different, so I just can not restore Drive C on the new computer. What is the best way to do this? Thanks, John

if you KNOW the paths to everything will be identical then just copy the entire SageTV folder to the new location.

That was my first thought. But does the SageTV Windows installer install any files outside of the SageTV folder?
P.S. I can made virtual disks on the test machine so the paths look the same. P.P.S. It turns out that my SageTV recording and import directories are in UNC format, so the test system should point to all of the media files on the production system. Does anyone see any problems with doing that?

I probably should have said more. i would copy the folder over and then run the installer over that same folder as then you will have the registry settings and dependencies. Sage will not overwrite properties etc so you should have a matching system in theory.
There are always exception as some plugins may write elsewhere as well but its worth a try. k

The good news is that I am not using too many plugins. Comskip, Phoenix and Web Server are my must haves.
