Upgrading My Existing System
Hello All.
I have been loving my sage system, but looks like I may need to upgrade. Here is my current stats:
HTPC Case, Micro ATX motherboard size.
Pentium Dual Core 1.8 GHz, 2 gig RAM, Sapphire Radeon HD 4550 video card (fanless), dual hard drives, with a 1TB drive (WD Black) for the recording disk. Hauppauge 2250 tuner card. Currently running WinXP and Sage TV7.
It works great, although I do notice some stuttering when playing back HD recordings (skips a frame?) It has been stable and running solid the last year with no issues.
BUT, I am debating upgrading. I am moving, and the over-the-air channels I enjoy now will have an extremely weak signal. I am debating going to the 4-channel Ceton InfiniTV4, and digital cable with a cable card..
It looks like this may require a full system upgrade, Windows 7 / new motherboard and processor / RAM, etc. This might run me out of budget quickly between the windows & the new motherboard/processor. Anyone have any suggestions?
I guess I am wondering if the CETON card will run with my current setup. Anyone know?
