Recommendations for new capture device

Hi all,
I have 2 digital STB's connected to 2 Colossus' at the moment. It's been serving me well for years. But lately, one of the cards seems to look like it's going bad. The picture is green. I suppose it's possible it's a STB. I haven't looked into that yet but, if it is the actual card, what is everyone using these days? I saw there is a Colossus 2 out but, I don't really see anyone using it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Side Note: I bought an Android box (Droidbox) a few weeks ago for Kodi and I saw Sage now has an android Miniapp which I installed on the box last night and OMG. I am SO excited!! I can retire the HD200 to a different room. It's bad ass to have Kodi and Sage on one box. LOVE IT!!!

Are you connecting via RCA component cables? If so, check for a loose connection or bad cable. If one of the 3 cables isn't connected you get a green picture.

Connected rca. I would love to go to hdmi if that's even possible. I will check the cable. I've been meaning to do that just haven't gotten to it yet. Thanks.

I'm using a Colossus 2 to replace an HVR1600. Connecting via HDMI. Had to add a ViewHD 1x2 splitter to solve the HDCP problem. see https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/sho...ad.php?t=62076

You can use HDMI with the colossus with no problem. Just get one of these to remove HDCP protection.

Also, if the picture has gone green either your cables are loose/failing or the component input/output is going bad. In either of those instances going to HDMI will solve your problem.

So you guys use the ViewHD just for HDCP? You don't use it for the splitter part? I couldn't see why you'd use that part but, figured I'd ask.

So, the Colossus 2 is worth getting then?

I will check all the cables once the xmas festivities are through. I am hoping that's all it is but, I was checking just in case.

I use the ViewHD for both functions.
