Connect v9 client (windows) to v7 server fails
Was this intended to work? i installed v7 client (trial). works fine, discovers and connects right away.
Tried both a manual and installer install of v9 windows client. Pops up dialog for ip or server name, i tried both, and then i get an error "Unable to connect to the SageTV server at the specified address. Please make sure you entered the name/IP address correctly and that you have enabled he SageTV Server option in Detailed Setup -> ADvanced on the SageTV Server. (2)" Its definitely enabled and configured, v7 clients connect no problem. Server - winv7 SageTV v7 Client - win10 Sagetv v9

No, the server and the full client both have to be the same version.

This is a requirement because of how the database is shared between server and client (duplicated onto the client) so versions have to be the same.
