sage client fails with server in service mode
I am looking to expand my Sage setup. I want to move my current htpc machine to the basement and use it as a server and build a new htpc computer. I have downloaded the sage client to test its functionality.
It will connect to the server and function properly if the htpc it is running in 'normal' mode. If the htpc is running in service mode (which is what I want to be able to do) the client will not connect (error : unable to connect to the sage server at the specified address). I am currently running in service mode as localsystem on the htpc so it is using the client/server functionality just locally. I want to be able to use the new computer as a client in the living room and the existing computer as a server/client so that it can enjoy the functionality of Sage on the television in the basement as well. I am assuming that I am missing something simple, can anyone throw me a bone? |

Do you have a firewall where you allowed SageTV.exe to get through? If so, maybe the service is still being blocked.

Thanks Andy,
Stupid me. I was thinking since it connected to the server when the server was in program mode but not when in service mode that it wasn't a network issue. I checked and sagetv was allowed access but not sagetvservice. Granted sagetvservice access and it works great, who would have thought? |
