Failure of Sorting TV Shows

I am running Sage as a client.

I am having a confusing issue with sorting TV shows. It is driving us crazy. We select sorting of shows by Title. What we get is shows sorted in blocks, so sections of sorted by title, and then it starts again. Sometimes, it doesn't sort at all, and I get blank spots.

First, I suggest you move to using the Flows and customize a flow to meet your needs...much more flexible.

The default sage views as shown in your pics are slightly customized in Gemstone but mostly visual although there may have been other changed too. To assist with your issue I would need to see the setting you have for sort.

Ummm...how do I create flows for TV shows? I see a menu item in videos.

It but default is under Videos menu but a Flow can have TV or almost any content.

Go into an existing Flow and press Options. From there you will see an option for View Source....select a TV centric View source....I believe there is a Recordings and many others.

From there....customize any of the many options....as if you are stuck of course.

Flows are pretty impressive! I have a couple of questions, though:

I created a flow, did some customization, and then went to the menu manager and added it under "Recordings". It appears now. I wanted it to be "All Recordings", but it seems to only show TV shows, not recorded movies, like I see under "All Recordings". When in the new menu item I created, I have right clicked, and am view the "Gemstone Views", and I can select TV or Movies, but not seem to select both. I have tried the "Other Views", but pretty much can only select one. Is my only option to create one menu item for TV shows and the other for recorded movies?

I found the answer to above at the Gemstone FAQ.

Also what options is there to show a snapshot of the video in the menu? All I get is something that looks like a filmstrip.

I am not sure what "snapshot" you are looking for. Try the various Flow types as some show a poster (if available) and some show background fanart etc. For the posters/background type fanart you need it already available from tools like BMT or locally stored fanart in the media folders.

As for a manual I have never had time to create one. There are good resources in the old Diamond wiki but it is old.

The menu manager is based on my ADM plugin so that wiki is good info too.
