Sorting Views

Going through the various views on the BMT Web Interface, and I notice that when I'm looking at the "Sage Videos Import by Folder", the sub folders are all properly sorted in alphabetical order. However, if I look at almost any other view ("TV Shows", "TV Shows (ALL)", "TV Shows (Seasons)"), they are all mis-sorted with no obvious order....

Any clue why?

I'm pretty sure the TV views are sorted... but they are sorted by their most recent activity.

ie, in my TV Shows banner view, recent recordings are near the top, even though they are grouped by their series name.

That sort of makes sense, now that I look at my folder view. Is there a way (or maybe a feature request?) to change the sort order by title instead of date?

Any view can be tweaked, although I don't support it in the web ui. I'm pretty sure the Phoenix STV allows you to change the sort, but I've never used it there either.... or you can create your own views.

I can create my own view? Is that in a how-to doc somewhere? Just somewhere that I've never looked at because BMT is a VERY easy to "get up and running" plugin?

It does require that you get your hands dirty.... but here's the thread on "Editing Views" in the Phoenix forum... and there are some samples posted there as well from various users.

Don't mind getting a little dirty

I write VB code all day, so I'm familiar with XML somewhat. The thread looks pretty straightforward so I'll have to take a really good look and see what kind of trouble I can get into.

Thanks Sean!

Good luck, and post in the Phoenix area for questions... you'll probably get faster responses... BMT is a little quiet these days, and I don't check the forums nearly as much I used to
