I'll be watching the recording.  Everything is fine.  It goes to commercial.  It comes back from commercial and suddenly there is a guy describing everything that is happening in the show. 
 
The audio switch has only happened a handful of times since early November when I switched from Windows to Linux.  I just assumed that the Linux driver was having trouble with the changes in the audio stream when it goes to commercial.

 That sounds like a problem with your set top box. There's no way an HDPVR could switch audio streams mid recording. It just takes whatever it is given.
