Problems waking from sleep

Sage 7 on windows xp. I have windows set to put the computer to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity. Sage is set to wake up three minutes before a recording.

Often, the computer Will wake up but it's like Sage is still asleep and recordings do not take place. Once this happens, the computer will stay awake and not go back to sleep on its own. And Sage will not record any TV shows until I manually wake Sage by pressing a button on the remote control.

This happens most often when I am out of town for a couple of days. I have missed many shows this way but I don't like leaving the computer on for 18 to 20 hours a day when I'm not using Sage.

I would avoid putting your disk to sleep and just turning off your monitor after 10 minutes as what used to happen to me was I was getting a ton of IRQ is less than or equal to errors that later stopped all together once I turned off HD Hibernation.

I thought it was off but some windows update must have re-enabled it and once I turned off Disk Hibernation my problem was solved.

Most Sage TV users don't enable it since they run in to the same problems your experiencing now

I have my pc sleep after a half hour and don't have problems. Did it with xp and windows 7. I have mine set to wake up 15 minutes early so everything is spun up. I also had to set the drives not to spin down because I got errors in my recordings if I did. They are also green drives which is what I think caused that to happen.

I will try those settings. I already prevent the HD from spinning down but your shut down and wake up times are longer than mine.
