no data
anyone starting to see "no data" showing up on random channels today?
did a reboot, and added subtracted a couple of channels to force a refresh...still no data on both US and Canadian channels from different providers/tuners

Yes, I had the problem show up yesterday, mostly on my local NBC affiliate. Missed a favorite recording because of it. It's spotty.

Yeah, looked like connectivity to the EPG server was a little hampered in the last week or so. logs showed quite a few connection failures recently - usually when this happens its not as noticeable, as it is likely to get it at some point before running out of data - almost got me to switch to sdepg - but then it appears to be working, so all was well... delayed me watching GoT until the west coast feed though, which significantly affected my sleep... I do need to switch to the sdepg anyway, just because I want to get familiar with it, as I feel going forward it's going to be the better of the two, especially if it takes advantage of schedule direct's newer non-us/canada info to help out those in other parts of the world.

I think there may have been some glitches on the EPG server recently, causing a few no-data slots in the guide data.
See this FAQ as the standard solution to this. Andy

My EPG was updated at 6:41am Eastern today and there were some "no data" channels. I manually ran an EPG update at ~3pm Eastern and the missing data was filled in.

I'm seeing a bit of it, too. I just did an EPG search for "no data" and it came up with a bunch of entries on May 2nd, which is expected, and then 4 other misc no data's between April 22nd and April 28th.
That's not entirely unusual. |

did a second reset by toggling channels. this time did it on both tuners - data seems to be returning. I too would like to try out Sluggers plugin, but haven't noticed anyone answering his call to take over the maintenance...

I have a hunch it may get rolled into the main branch once this thing gets opened up. Especially for non-US/Canada markets, it's key to get rid of the XMLTV mess.

I have no issue with this, provided the installation and daily use is fairly painless. I suppose it's always tough to move on from something that has been perceived as free.
(I guess that first sentence sounds fairly demanding for a guy with little to no programming skills) |

Oh, I have no problem paying for it - just haven't aside the time to actually do the switch...
