Can't find clear QAM channels
Running SageTV 7.1.9 on Windows Vista. ATI all in wonder I think.
Everything has been running fine for years, but suddenly I can't tune almost any channels. Everything is QAM in my system. I think maybe the cable co remapped some of the stations? I can still tune one or two so I figure the card/drivers are probably fine. Anyway, if I try to rescan for channels, Sage tells me it can find no tunable stations. If I delete the old .frq file, it never gets regenerated. I feel like there was some trick when I first set this up but it's been so long I just can't remember what to do. Is there something I needed to run first - google suggested I need a .scn file first? Or is that something just for an HDHOMERUN? I don't remember those. Something in the properties file to edit to make the scan work? Turning off windows UAC? It's all so hazy. Any other quick software I can try, where I can just do a quick scan or even directly enter in a qam channel I know should work so that I can verify the card? Thanks for any help! Just let me know if there's any details about the setup that would help. |

Did you receive any notification recently, possibly buried on one of the bills, that your cable company is going all digital?

My Cable Co (Charter) recently went all-digital, and at the same time began encrypting local channels. Luckily I already had an HDHomeRun Prime set up with SageDCT, but I lost use of my 2x HDHomeRun ClearQAM tuners. I thought about getting an antenna for local channels, but I've discovered that the 3 tuners of the Prime are enough for me.
