SageTV View SLOW to Open
I've been running a headless SageTV service (as a process) for many years at this point. Sometimes I use Splashtop to remote into the headless server and stream video using the SageTV client on the headless server. In these cases, I launch the SageTV application while the service is running in the background.
The process of opening the SageTV client on the server used to take only a few seconds. However, recently it is now taking several minutes to open the client. I do not believe the service ever takes this long to start up, it just seems to be the client. Any ideas why it might be taking so long to start up? I've checked the health of the HD and the SMART metrics are reporting GOOD health. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

There is a parameter called "limited_carny_init". If you set it to TRUE, the Sage Client will launch more quickly (it delays some tasks until after Sage is started). I think there is an FAQ about this.

Thanks
Thanks guys.
The "limited_carny_init" fix from the FAQ seems to have helped quick a bit. Launching through Splashtop has sped up considerably, as has launching outside of a Splashtop session too. --Dan
