Sagetv wont open

Hi,
I searched the forums and couldn't find anything similar....
Earlier today Sagetv was working, and all of a sudden now when I try to open the program nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling (including reinstalling my pvr-250) and nothing seems to work, can't get into the program whatsoever. Anyone ever had similar problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Aaron

You've tried rebooting, right?

When you reinstalled, did you completely remove the SageTV installation dir, or at least remove the properties files and their autobackups? (After perhaps making a backup of your data files, unless you just started using it & therefore there isn't any data you need to back up.)

Perhaps a java glitch? If you install a java update, remove the old version first, since it seems to leave multiple java installations otherwise.

(Just a few guesses.)

I would tend to agree with Opus and point you in the direction of your java set up -- the reason I say this is I had some problems that were unexplained at first until I realized that my java had upgraded itself. I don't recall that it caused sage to quit altogether though.
For what it's worth..

...Not sure if it will help any, but make sure there are no Sage processes running (Sagetv.exe and comskip.exe). A couple times I've closed Sage but comskip did not end. When I opened Sage again, nothing happened. I killed the comskip task and then everything worked fine.

I did try restarting, uninstalling (completely) and making sure nothing was already running. None of those worked.

Then (thanks to all of you) I uninstalled and reinstalled java and it is working fine now. Should have asked this question a while ago, thanks for all your help. It is much appreciated.
