Reinstall SageTV v7 from scratch
Quick question. I have Sage on my WinXP box and want to reinstall on a new Windows 7 box. Is everything available (including all plugins) available as always for a fresh install, just like it was years ago?

It depends of you are going to copy over the Sage folder ... over to a 64 bit System it will not work.... because the Install folder will be different so the plugins etc.. will not work. If you are starting from scratch and just copy over the wiz.bin then you will need to re-install all plugins. I would not Try this today or tomorrow because the Sage forum and Sage plugins site will not be available.

You should be able to get everything just like before, I don't think any plugins were pulled, a number have continued to receive updates.

That said, just don't try this tomorrow (2/18/2014), because the servers that support the plugin system, as well as the forum are going to be down for maintenance.

OK, I finally got around to this. Took the better part of a day.

I have a minor problem changing the Commercial Detector plugin parameters from the Sage GUI. I wonder if it is a permissions issue since the .ini file is located under \Program Files (along with all of Sage). So quick question:

I just installed SageTV as a normal Admin user in Windows 7. UAC was on, I did not change the default folder, and it runs as the system account as normal.

Is this all still the best way to set it up?
