please help with sagetv reinstall

I loaded new drivers for the Hauppauge IR. It didn't work correctly so I had to load the old ones again. Now the IR doesn't work. Instructions say that I need to reinstall SageTV for the IR to work with sagetv. I don't want to lose the customizations that I have made to SageTV.. Is there a way to reinstall SageTV and not lose the STV customizations? I have the weather package installed and of course the menu editing customization.

You don't need to reinstall SageTV just to get the remote to work. See this FAQ.

When you do install an upgrade in the future, just make a backup copy of your current SageTV install dir & then install to the same dir where the current version is installed. It will usually reset to using the default STV, but you can choose your custom STV again afterwards.
