You have to enable secret extras for this. 5309 from the system info screen.

Weren't they talking about Win7MC not SageTV?

Which is what Wayne said didn't work for his series recordings based on "Recording Defaults" being "main settings" here:

It did not work for me. I have no idea why, but it didn't work. The post padding would be there typically (but not always), but the pre-padding never kicked in for whatever reason.
