"Device failed to record" error on many of my turners....

I am getting this error on many of my tuners:

Error Message Details

The device input "Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 103453F5-0 Digital TV Tuner" failed to record "Mistresses" on KTVX on physical channel 111-1008-4 at Mon 7/29 21:01. The TV source for this input may have become disconnected, powered off, has lost its signal, the channel is no longer available, or the device is failing.

At first I thought it was a bad tuner, so I deleted it. Now its starting for all the tuners. I saw another post a while back with similar problem where Sage Tech Support sent a new file http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52319.

I tried adding the tuners back but slowly they all get this error. I checked the firmware on all turner, all up to date. This just started happening a short wile ago, before then everything was running fine.

Any ideas will help.

Thanks

Try those channels using QuickTV. I suspect that those channels are flakey for one or more of the tuners.

For instance I had a single QAM channel that wouldn't tune on any of the tuners on my HDHR Prime, but would on the 2 tuners in my old original 2 tuner HDHR. That channel would go in and out during a recording on the Prime's tuners ranging from a great signal to block video to nothing.

Luckily it was the second feed on that channel and recordings are rare so I just had to make sure that anything recording on that channel would end up on the original HDHR which has no problem with that channel. BTW, the primary channel works just fine on any of the tuners which seems odd.

If you are using QAM make sure Comcast has not encrypted them.

I also had problems once when the power supply went bad on my Hd Homerun and it gave me strange errors on certain stations.

Even if Comcast has not encrypted them yet (reliable sources say they will eventually), Comcast has a habit of moving things around with some frequency, causing you to rescan and update mappings.

I find it happen 2 or three times a year.

+1 on probably the power supply. Any 5V wall wart with the same or greater current capacity and a matching connector will work. I use DLink 5V 2.5A available from amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/AF1805-A-2-5A-.../dp/B0044QMAFY

Many other choices available as well.
