Colossus alternatives?

Hi,

are there any other component video capture cards compatible with SageTV and capable of IR controlling on the market? Any other possible Colossus replacement ideas with the same functionality?

I am getting tired of Colossus problems after just couple of weeks of using my brand new machine with two Colossus cards....

Thanks
Frank

If it doesn't need to be a "card" then you can always grab the HD-PVR. I would say the HD-PVR with USB-UIRT works.

No video recording problems a la Colossus? It is rather expensive and I need two of them :-(. The Colossus cards would become paper weights I guess.

Thanks

I can't help you with the Colossus, but I believe you can usually snag a used HD-PVR 1212 on Ebay for under a hundred bucks (watch the shipping costs).

HD PVR 2 model 1512

I recently purchased a HD PVR 2 model 1512 and had to return it as it frequently crashed, locked-up and simply didn't function. Apparently the HD PVR 2 uses the same drivers ay the Colossus as the HD PVR 2 is listed as a Colossus device in SageTV. Until Hauppauge gets their drivers issues worked out, I'd stay away from purchasing the HD PVR 2 model 1512.
